Aami Two Towers porchilum. Akta jaigai, when they all arrive at Isengard from Helm's Deep after Saruman's fall, there's quite a charming account of weed-smoking.

I guess when Tolkien wrote it, it must have been quite quite legal. Bodhai unio regularly kheten teten. Noiley trees that walk and talk?:)

I spoke too hastily. Wiki cleared a couple of things up. Tolkien was a staunch anti-drug person. Though he prolly smoked tobacco at some point.
And no doubt a first rate genius in all. The sheer consistency amidst the volumes!
